About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
As a key member of our Environmental and Sciences team in Freeport, Texas, you bring valuable knowledge and skills to every area of our business. We in turn provide you with opportunity to grow, to be challenged, to determine your career footprint and do the best work of your life! The successful candidate filling the Senior Air Quality Emissions Specialist position, which is eligible for a sign-on bonus, will undergo an initial training period working under the direct supervision of senior level Emissions Specialist, then will work with other engineers, scientist or other environmental personnel and travel twenty-five percent (25%)to various locations.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform Methods 1 through 5 and 18 (40 CFR Part 60)
  • Support performance of Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA) for continuous emissions monitoring systems, testing for demonstration of compliance, testing for establishing operating limits, testing of flares, etc.
  • Conduct special air monitoring assignments as needed
  • Plan and execute work assignments with limited instructions
  • Mentor lower level specialists
  • Interact independently with client and regulatory personnel on routine tasks
  • Assist incineration plant operations and maintenance person as needed
  • Initiate changes to procedures and will support the implementation of procedures
  • Contribute positively to health, safety, environmental and quality programs by performing work safely and adhering to all safety standards and protocols
  • Provide superior customer service by performing task on time and within budget
  • Maintain open lines of communication with office management and staff

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years' experience in a related field technician position
  • A related 2 year college degree may substitute for 2 years of the required experience
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for 4 years of the experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
  • General understanding of the equipment and technology used to gather samples and information from the field
  • Verbal and written communication skills; able to interface directly with project stakeholders
  • Organization skills and attention to detail in recording field data
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software to create reports
  • Ability to perform bending, kneeling, standing, confined-space entry, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Ability to wear an air-purifying respirator, as required by OSHA Standards
  • Requires enrollment in the medical monitoring program requiring initial and annual physicals
  • Must possess valid Driver's license
  • Due to the nature and location of work, United States Citizenship or Naturalized Citizenship is required
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and will be subject to random drug screens

Preferred Qualifications
  • Stack testing experience in chemical plant
  • Current Hazwoper Training Certificate
  • Current TWIC Card
