Job Summary
AECOM's Buildings Places business line is dedicated to excellence and integrated design solutions. Our Minneapolis office is actively seeking a dynamic and creative Senior Project Architectural Designer for immediate employment in our Architectural Design Practice with the primary responsibility to lead the architectural design for medium to large healthcare projects with a strong background in regional, national and international projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading the design effort while working closely with client, the client's internal planning teams and AECOM's internal project team
  • Assisting in driving the continued improvement of innovation, design and, creativity
  • Mentoring, coaching and developing staff and assisting them to achieve their full potential in line with the needs of strategic plans

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Design/Planning or related field
  • 10 years of project experience
  • Extensive design leadership and project delivery track record in a large, preferably multi-disciplinary, practice
  • Knowledge of design management, scheduling, estimating and client management
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Architectural licensure required
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit required
  • Well developed and effective communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Must be able to lead a team effort, direct and delegate work to all team members to enable them to work independently, whether located locally or remotely, as well as mentor staff
  • Demonstrable team building and influencing skills; experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address major client needs and challenges
  • Experience in design build and other alternate delivery methods
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Member of professional societies and/or organizations (e.g. AIA, NCARB, LEED)
  • Flexibility to travel within the United States and internationally
  • Understanding of the capacity of the following programs and the type of documentation they produce relative to project deliverables, three dimensional modeling software, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite, Office Suite, AutoCAD and Revit
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and interact regularly with internal colleagues, existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders linked to the business and practice lines

Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Architect with experience in design leadership
  • Healthcare facility design or related experience
  • Proficient in 3D design tools
