About the Business Line
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. AECOM is recruiting for a Senior Engineer - IT and Communications to join the growing team in Edinburgh.
As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of small to mid-sized projects in their entirety, including managing projects, agreeing resources with your Line Manager, managing spend to ensure profitability as well as successfully manage and deliver the technical element. You will take the IT Lead role in multi-disciplinary projects run by others in across the business, integrating with non-IT teams as required.
You'll be familiar with technical specifications and be responsible for preparing these for your projects, including technical detail, cost estimates and tender analysis. Using your specialised knowledge of IT and with your understanding of the importance of Quality Assurance, you will be expected to undertake Design Reviews for projects, and maintain a record of agreed changes and/or minutes.
In addition to this, you will assist in the management of junior staff members, assisting them with workload and developing their understanding of IT.
The IT and Communications team in Edinburgh is a close-knit team and you will be expected to get involved with all projects, completing whatever works are
