This position is for a fixtures and robotics program representative, who will be responsible to complete the installation and certification of the CMC First Article Integrated Tube and Hull (ITH) fixtures and robotic systems at the OHIO Replacement (OR) Automated Frame and Cylinder Facility (AFC) at Quonset Point and at BAE in the UK, and implement the OR AFC Phase II fixture installation supporting OR whole boat construction. The fixtures and robotic systems that are being implemented at the EB OR AFC Facility are primarily for production of the OR pressure hull cylinders, as well as missile tube outfitting and subsequent integration of the missile tubes into the pressure hull. Upon certification of the OR AFC Facility Phase I facilities and tools, the selected individual will continue to support the operation and maintenance of the fixtures and robotic elements of the facility and future Phase II installations supporting whole boat manufacturing. |
This work will include oversight of the technical development, procurement, delivery, installation, certification, operation, and maintenance of the fixtures and robotic tooling within the OR AFC Facility and at BAE in the UK. As the fixtures and robotic tooling are vendor provided equipment, significant interface with and management of EB sub-tier supplier activities will be required; as well as with EB welding engineering, manufacturing engineering, and operations. Significant interface with EB Facilities Master Plan (FMP) management will also be required in support of OR AFC Facility Phase II activities.
This position is located in EB facility in Shaws Cove in New London CT, and will require significant business travel to the EB Quonset Point Facility and EB sub-tier supplier facilities in the US and in Europe, and to the BAE shipyard in the UK. This work will require management of Export License requirements associated with Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs) and with the POLARIS Sales Agreement (PSA).
