Join our manufacturing team in Templecombe as a Permanent Production Engineer where you will work within a multifunctional engineering and operations team to support new and existing products and processes through the manufacturing lifecycle. Our target is to ensure manufacture is on time, exceptional quality and on budget. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to develop whilst working on world leading products.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for resolving production and shop floor issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Initiate and monitor problem reports, deviation requests, and product non-conformance.
  • Create and update existing routings through the company MRP system.
  • Mentor and support operations staff in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and problem solving techniques.
  • Define and implement process controls for new and existing products
  • Review low complexity drawings and design specifications to ensure products are manufactured efficiently
  • Perform Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments on low complexity assemblies and sub-assemblies ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct Product Readiness Reviews (PRR) as to ensure product launch considerations and risks has been clearly identified.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, repair, and re-assembly of critical capital equipment.
  • Identify and source tooling where required to support the manufacturing processes
Skills, qualifications and experience

  • Manufacturing engineering experience within a low to medium volume, light mechanical / electro-mechanical environment is preferable.
  • HNC. HND or Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Broad experience and knowledge of Manufacturing Techniques - mech assembly, soldering, adhesives
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • A working knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and implementation of lean manufacturing is highly desirable.
