Based at our heritage engineering site in Derby, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced Test Specialist
As a key member of the Test Department, the Test Specialist will be responsible for the technical support required to test vehicles produced form the assembly line to the certified serviceable standards and to the highest of customer expectations. S/he will be a focal point for Quality control of vehicle-borne systems through stages of production (including internal and external suppliers) to functional testing and customer acceptance.
Providing first point, line side support to MS staff on routine testing of rolling stock, at all points of test process, to include Single Car Test, Unit test, Dynamic test and Train Despatch.
Leading small teams to investigate and rectify technical issues, this will include the need for detailed knowledge and understanding of train Propulsion Systems, TCMS and Software download.
Work with the Engineering and Quality teams to prove out test specifications and modifications for release to MS staff.
Identifying skill requirements for departmental staff, creating and leading training packages to address gaps created by ongoing vehicle and facility evolution.
Supporting Product Introduction with the handover of trains including travel to depot to ensure feedback issues are raised and feed back into the routine testing process.
Weekend working will be required on an occasional basis to support the company requirements in line with Operational needs.
