The Senior Planner will fill a key role interfacing with project management, be a leader within project controls, and be a main interface with the various groups, engineering, construction, contracts, procurement, on the project. The ideal candidate will be a professional planner capable of leading the implementation of scheduling and representing Bechtel Corporation and the Power Industry to support FTTH projects.
- Manage integration of engineering, procurement, construction and start-up planning and scheduling efforts and planning and schedule development with all activity sequences and logics with the total project plan. Execute analysis and reporting efforts for the project. Using Primavera 6, utilize resource loading and leveling capabilities of, produce standard and custom schedules and charts, and exports and import data between Primavera 6 and other databases. The detailed execution schedules include resource utilization plans, progress tracking systems.
- Lead planning and coordinating schedule interfaces with the owner, vendors and subcontractors and provide guidance by understanding the complete project scope, project schedule objectives as well as supporting and maintaining a plan and schedule to accomplish the same goal. Continually monitors critical and near critical path work and identifies issues for mitigation. Proactively assesses progress, completion forecasts and provides solutions to mitigate schedule delays or to optimize project completion.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships to influence project and achieve results in the project's best interest. This includes the ability to prepare and give presentations to management, the client or others as required.
•A recognized degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business Management from an accredited college or university or a minimum of 8 years work experience in lieu of a degree
•A minimum of three (3) years of experience with Planning and Scheduling, preferably in Communications or FTTH •A minimum of (5) years of experience in Project Controls, Commercial Operations, and/or Prime Contracts experience
•A thorough understanding of capability to schedule complex engineering and construction projects
•Recent aptitude at an expert level of P6, Excel, and Access
•Knowledge of industry FTTH technology, prior construction or engineering experience
•Proven ability to lead independently on complex project controls issues with superior interpersonal skills, creative solution and problem solving skills
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Ability to interact closely and frequently with client management and operations personnel while maintaining necessary levels of commercial awareness
•Ability to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship
•A minimum of 8 years project controls experience in large complex construction projects
