We are currently looking to recruit a Product Safety Engineer based within our defence domain in Cheadle Heath close to Manchester airport. The Product Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring Product Safety is managed appropriately across allocated projects/products, taking into account current legislation as well as specific contractual requirements with respect to safety management.

Key Responsibilities:

The role may include but not be limited to the following activities:

  • Preparing Safety Management Systems and Safety Environmental Management Plans
    Safety assessments throughout the project life cycle, including hazard assessment to ensure all hazards are ALARP.
  • Compilation of safety deliverables/reports
  • Estimating to support bid activities
  • Preparation and construction of Safety Cases including Safety Case Reports
  • Preparation and presentation of safety at project reviews
  • Arrange and conduct/chair project safety reviews
  • Liaison and effective communication with project staff
  • Managing related subjects such as HSE, REACH, RoES etc

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Engineering background
  • Ability to write clear, coherent and logical reports
  • Strong analytic abilities with a methodical approach
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Experience of Safety work within Defence projects an advantage
  • Experience of working with UK and International Safety Standards
