We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer with open pit and underground experience to join the Mine Engineering and Stability team at Golder Associates. This is a Perth-based casual position offering you the opportunity to showcase your strong technical knowledge and experience on a range of technically challenging projects. You will have the opportunity to work with our global team of industry leaders and technical experts servicing projects in Australia and overseas.
Specifically you will:
* develop innovative solutions to mining problems across a variety of commodities and deposits;
* carry out operations and planning reviews, due diligence studies for mining projects and scoping to feasibility level investigations;
* manage open pit and underground mining projects including budgeting and quality control; and
* provide technical support and guidance to project teams, working across a range of technical disciplines.
You will have extensive experience at an intermediate to senior level, preferably in a consulting environment. As Golder Associate's work is spread across both open pit and underground projects you will need to be able to show previous experience in either of these areas. It is expected that you will have excellent communication skills, strong report writing skills and demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety. Ideally you would have already developed a solid network of clients and have experience in developing and maintaining client relationships.
You will be tertiary qualified in engineering or science, and a postgraduate qualification in rock mechanics or geotechnical engineering will be highly regarded.
