GDMS has an immediate opening Deputy Program Manager for Engineering (DPME), a Senior Principal Engineering role. The DPME position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various GDMS and client technologies. GDMS is seeking an experienced DPME to lead our portfolio of Radar Programs. In this position, the DPME will be responsible for the overall technical execution, including the cost and schedule management of the technical team. In this position, the candidate is required to support Government meetings and create consensus among the engineering technical team, the government team, and the program manager. The DPME must possess excellent oral presentations skills and be able to maintain the engineering team's focus on budget, schedule, and technical execution. Good communication skills, writing skills, and teamwork skills are required. Travel maybe required to support the distributed nature of the work. The use of team collaboration tools are also required.
Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
The DPME position requires a Bachelor's degree in a specialized area, field or the equivalent and at least ten years of related work experience. Applicants with a Master's degree and a minimum of eight years of related experience are also eligible.
Department of Defense TS security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
