Job Summary
AECOM Corporate Communications is a geographically-dispersed, global communications team. This role will be based in New York.

The Communications Specialist - Enterprise Programs Communications will be responsible for developing internal and external communications related to three key enterprise initiatives: Sustainability, Safety and Resilience. These enterprise-wide initiatives include programs that reflect the company's commitment to its people, its clients and to building a better world.

The Communications Specialist - Enterprise Programs Communications will partner with the Manager of Enterprise Programs Communications to develop and execute communications strategies and activities that tell the AECOM story through these key initiatives to key stakeholders, including employees, media, industry organizations and current and potential clients. The role will also collaborate with other team members within Corporate Communications and partner with cross-functional colleagues across the company involved in enterprise initiatives. Responsibilities include:
  • Developing internal and external content and employee engagement tools for the intranet, website, email, mobile applications, press materials and senior leader presentations and speaking engagements.
  • Contributing to the development of an internal and external integrated communications strategy to raise awareness of AECOM's enterprise initiatives and drive thought leadership and a positive reputation for AECOM as a key player and leader in the areas of Safety, Sustainability and Resilience.
  • Researching, outlining, writing, editing and proofreading communications materials.
  • Engaging with Corporate Communications colleagues around the globe to align activities and provide support.
  • Developing strong relationships with internal clients to provide communications support while ensuring timely follow-up and follow-through of deliverables based on production schedules.
  • Ensuring all communication materials meet internally-set quality and consistency standards.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates should possess a degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related discipline along with three to five years professional communications experience with global, multi-site organizations. Key competencies, skills and attributes include:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, including copyediting and familiarity with AP style.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex materials and craft creative, persuasive language and compelling messaging for a variety of global audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and effectively project manage a variety of concurrent assignments in a demanding environment and under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and work effectively at all levels of a global organization.
  • Representing Corporate Communications in a collegial, cooperative and collaborative manner.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work.
  • Self-starter capable of assuming oversight and responsibility for several tasks at once with little supervision.
  • High energy, reliable and enthusiastic team player
  • Experience with content management systems (such as SharePoint, Salesforce, Vignette).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Adobe Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
