We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Construction Specialist within our Permian EOR group based in Hobbs, NM.

The successful candidate will support facilities construction activities common to the Oil & Gas industry as a member of a team responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating construction activities while maintaining the highest standards of HES performance.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Participate in the establishing project construction strategy and execution planning
  • Responsibilities includes selecting, directing and managing contractors
  • Inspecting for quality and contractual compliance
  • Providing leadership and supervision in support of compliance with health, environmental and safety programs and standards
  • Estimating, tracking and managing cost and progress
  • Overseeing documentation and close-out activities
  • Post-installation appraisal of projects.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 15 years of experience in construction, modification, and repair of plant or oil field facilities and pipelines
  • Demonstrated construction management skills including material & labor planning, cost & schedule estimating, contracting, cost & progress tracking and management, documentation, post appraisal and process improvement
  • Demonstrated high level of effectiveness working in a collaborative teamwork environment
  • Demonstrated effective communication in written and verbal forms; adept at selection and use of appropriate communication techniques (e-mail, fax, phone, cell phone, Internet, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of oil & gas production operations, associated pipeline systems and surface equipment, and demonstrated ability to integrate construction activities with ongoing operating activities
  • Working knowledge of the installation, maintenance and operation of rotating equipment common to Oil & Gas operations including reciprocating compressors, oil flooded rotary twin screw compressors, vapor recovery compressors, H-pumps and horizontal split case pumps
  • Working knowledge of applicable API, ASME, and OSHA codes and standards
  • Ability to effectively contribute in constructability reviews & assist in the engineering effort
  • Ability to lead others to accomplish construction tasks
  • Ability to select and manage pipeline and facility installation contractors and inspectors
  • Ability to travel as required (a valid driver's license and excellent driving record are required)
  • Available for call-outs
  • High proficiency in use of computer database and spreadsheet functions (Maximo, Access, Excel) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • High proficiency in use of construction drawings, survey drawings, and installation specifications
  • Thorough working knowledge of pipeline and facility installation practices
  • Thorough application knowledge of NDT testing techniques
