The Mission Critical Assurance Program (MCAP) is a new Special Emphasis Program (SEP) being developed to increase the quality and reliability of Mission Critical Equipment within the Multi Mission Platform (MMP) and the Multi Mission Systems (MMS) Program. This program will leverage requirements from existing Special Emphasis Programs (e.g. SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC, Fly-By-Wire, Nuclear and Level 1 ) as well as vendor best practices to create a comprehensive set of requirements that will be implemented across the programs vendor base to increase program equipment quality and reliability. These requirements will focus on the key areas from existing Special Emphasis Programs (SEPs) including System Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Vendor Selection and Procurement, Quality Assurance, Test and Qualification, Maintenance, and process improvement.|
To support the development of the MCAP program, a new position in Quality Assurance Engineering will be established. The position will report to the Program Lead for Special Emphasis Programs within the Quality Assurance organization and will function as technical oversight in the development of the MCAP manual. Job responsibilities include evaluating existing SEP requirements and identifying value added requirements for this new program, interfacing with the Customer and Vendors to establish and implement requirements, supporting the development of the requirements manual, analyzing the impact of the program on future product development and delivery, and developing policies and procedures to guide the program.
