Analogue & Digital Electronics, Firmware
Lead Electronics and Firmware engineer working on a safety critical mass manufactured product range. You will need Analogue and Digital hardware design skills as well as Real-time embedded software development experience, coding in C without and RTOS.
Due to the nature of the product range this is a resource constrained environment, experience working on low power product ranges would be advantageous, in house the preferred chipset is the TI MSP430 (other experience will of course be acceptable) and experience of embedded C development in regulated or formally structured environment would be essential. In house coding standards, Misra, DO-178B, Iec61508 or medical device standards would all be of interest.
As this is a lead engineer role you will be expected to lead 2-3 junior engineers as a part of a project team.
Electronics design experience: Analogue circuits using mostly discrete components, Analogue circuits using IC’s, Digital circuits using discrete, Digital IC’s, FPGA, Power electronics etc would all be of interest.
Embedded Software development in C:
1. Low power programming.
2. Real time programming (especially Non-RTOS).
3. Safety Critical programming.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Design for EMC
Design for mass manufacture in a productionised environment.
Knowledge/experience of Mechanical design
Serial communication protocol design (TCP/IP, RS232, etc.)
formal leadership experience
To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK
