Mechanical Engineering background with experience managing projects
A remarkable business, originally a spin-off from a University, is experiencing an unprecedented growth. With a fully working family of innovative electro-mechanical products using a new technology the business is overwhelmed with interest from blue chip businesses.
Due to demand for its products the business needs to strengthen its engineering by recruiting an able Project Engineer. This is a broad based role covering mechanical engineering with electrical and electronic content. The product is highly reliable and performs a significant safety role on capital equipment and in the rail industry on the passenger carriages. The application to the rail and industry sectors are specific, and likely to be high volume.
The ideal candidate will be a degree graduate and have a few years initial experience working as Project Engineer, Applications Engineer , Design Engineer in a customer facing position with technological content. The product(s) typically perform a safety critical function on capital equipment.
The position presents the chance to work within a bright and highly-motivated multi-disciplinary team. State of the art equipment and associated software will be provided.
Key competencies of a Project Engineer:
*You will need to be highly innovative individual, capable of responding creatively to very rapid development
*You will be a graduate.
*You will have experience in Project Engineering / Mechanical Design of electro-mechanical products.
*You will have proven experience of customer interfacing, and able to quickly establish positive & productive working relationships.
*You will have excellent project planning and management skills and experience of coordinating a multitude of activities, tasks and personnel in the timely delivery of work to the customer.
*You will have familiarity with electro-mechanical industry practice and an awareness and understanding of the British and International Standards that apply to the Rail/ Industrial sectors
*You will have excellent IT and presentation skills (both verbal and written), with proven experience of producing high quality engineering documentation.
*A demonstrable history of successful validation and reliability
