We currently require a talented, experienced and customer facing Systems Engineer to work at a senior level, assisting our clients in the delivery of their business goals and technical needs through the application of high quality, professional, systems engineering services. With a flair for relationship building you will act as a trusted advisor to the client, providing mentoring and coaching on the application of system engineering principles to address complex problems. In addition you will also have the opportunity to support the development of the Systems Engineering capability across the Thales Cyber and Consulting business internally.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Requirements elicitation, analysis and definition.
  • Development of Operational Concepts.
  • Capture and validation of Use Cases.
  • Definition, documentation and evaluation of system architectures and designs.
  • Trade-off analysis, modelling and simulation.
  • System integration, verification and acceptance activities.
  • Integrated test, evaluation and acceptance planning.
  • Systems engineering governance.
  • Systems engineering management, including preparation of engineering management plans.
  • Provide support to proposals and bid work.
Skills and experience required:
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK is essential as you will typically work on the client site with delivery partners and client teams.
  • Demonstrable competence and experience as a practicing Systems Engineer with full mastery of systems engineering principles
  • Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle, from concept design, requirements capture and management, system and subsystem design, system integration, through to test strategies, acceptance and design update.
  • Practical experience of requirements management tools such as DOORS
  • Familiarity in Model Based System Engineering or MBSE
  • Experience working in the defence, nuclear or other high integrity industry.
  • Demonstrable internal and external stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident and self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and manage high volumes of work and deliver high quality outputs.
  • Experience working in a consulting or advisory capacity is highly desirable.
