Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Architect for immediate employment for the Atlanta, GA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in a large, complex project or several moderately-sized projects with greater risk and complexity, and significant financial impact
  • Resolves complex issue
  • Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools
  • Project teams may include 10 or members often representing multiple business lines, working in remote locations and including a subcontractor(s)
  • Reviews change order modification requests for entitlements for mid-sized projects or portions of larger projects
  • Manages budget and handle change orders when additional services are requested. Interfaces with staff, clients, and management
  • Monitors construction schedule and advises management of potential delays or issues
  • Manages project related contracts including budgets and timeline, cost tracking and ensuring all conditions in the contract are met, associated documents by means of RFI responses, submittal reviews, application of payments, and change orders
  • Evaluates contractor's progress and make recommendations
  • Develops working conduit of communication between an owner or contractor and the design team
  • Address and resolves problems and assures the final success of a construction project
  • Reads and interprets contract requirements, engineering drawings, and project schedules
  • Works independently on assigned duties

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • 10 years' experience
  • Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills
  • Able to communicate highly technical concepts in terms that internal project managers and external clients can understand
  • Able to manage a small team of experts to complete quality work products
  • Capacity to prepare winning proposals
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time
  • Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives
  • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of construction contracts, applicable codes, scheduling and familiarity with materials, methods and processes of construction
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Must be available to travel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Client contact overseeing design team and working with contractors on large scale projects
  • Intensive and diversified knowledge of the healthcare market at both regional and national levels; a true 'seller / doer' role
  • Familiarity with DoD or similar US Federal agency contracting requirements (FAR) and basic administrative
  • US Citizenship preferred
  • Ability to obtain a clearance if needed
  • Familiarity with DoD procurement requirements a plus
  • Experience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities
  • Licensed as a Registered Architect
  • Related experience in the National Healthcare Market
  • Experienced in identifying and developing new and future healthcare clients
  • Professionally experienced in healthcare design, medical planning, or project management
  • Demonstrated experience in the private health system and academic medical center markets
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCad and Adobe Creative Suite. Sketchup, Rhinoceros, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
