To ensure that the Company meets its commitments for the management of Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Aspects and Quality Compliance.
To manage the technical compliance of the Company's projects against industry recognised
standards, and to ensure the Company's quality and project based procedures remain relevant and compliant against industry recognised standards and meet or exceed its various accreditation schemes' requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
To maintain the Company's current Quality Management and Environmental Management
Systems inclusive of all associated policies, plans and procedures, and to manage the transition to any updated standards as they are introduced.
To carry out audits of the Company's processes and procedures, and to make, and
implement where required, improvement recommendations as necessary.
To maintain on an ongoing basis, third party accreditation for the Company's Quality and
Environmental Management Systems.
To review and update the Company's project based procedures to ensure they remain
relevant and compliant against industry recognised standards and meet or exceed its
various accreditation schemes' requirements
To inspect and audit the technical compliance of Company projects in regards to the standards
that they have been designed to.
To provide support and guidance to the Company's Contracts and Project Managers and
to assist in the compliant delivery of projects from initial design handover to final
handover for service & maintenance.
To carry out audits of projects, inclusive of project teams and sub-contractors, at varying
stages of completion, and to make improvement recommendations as necessary.
To ensure all technical audits are closed out with all remedial works and/or design issues
resolved within the agreed timescales.
To implement and maintain the Company's Occupational Health & Safety Management System
inclusive of all associated policies, plans and procedures.
To carry out inspections and audits on project sites to identify unsafe plant, working
conditions, practices and hazards. To report on the results of such inspections and to
make recommendations for any remedial action and any hazards identified.
To assess sub-contractor's Health & Safety processes and procedures prior to approval
and to monitor their compliance against Company standards and the requirements of
Health & Safety legislation.
To support in the reporting of the cause of any accidents, the circumstances leading to
them and the compilation of the necessary reports to prevent recurrence.
To liaise with Human Resources and to advise on Health & Safety training matters, and
where necessary, assist in the implementation of training programmes.
To achieve and maintain on an ongoing basis, third party accreditation for the Company's
Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
To maintain the Company's current accreditation's to all third party industry led Health & Safety schemes, and to investigate and introduce any further schemes of benefit to the Company. To identify and introduce any new or additional third party technical accreditation schemes thatcan be perceived to be of benefit or requirement to the Company.
The requirements of this position demand that the employee is technically competent in any
number of systems that the Company is involved in installing, along with various British and
European standards. There is also a requirement to have a basis of understanding in British
Environmental and Health & Safety legislation.
The desired qualifications for this role are as follows:
FIA Units 1, 2 & 3 in regards to BS 5839-1 for fire detection systems.
FIA Unit 7 in regards to BS EN 15004 for gas suppression systems.
NEBOSH Construction Certification.
CSCS qualified trades card holder.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
The role also requires the employee to be flexible when working with the internal and external
demands of the business, some of which may cause rise to conflicting priorities. The employee
should exhibit the following core competencies:

Due to the requirement of this position to be flexible when working to demanding expectations, some evening working may be expected, as will travel to, and working at, several locations in the UK and Europe dependent on the project base.
Due to the nature of this position, it can be expected that there will be extended periods of time spent using Display Screen Equipment along with travelling (driving) between Company offices and project sites. Whilst working on project sites, a degree of physical fitness will be required.
This position has no direct reports.
