Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a motivated individual to support execution of Sustainment initiatives for the OHIO Replacement (OR) Programs. The goal of Sustainment is to affect designs to achieve the prescribed Operational Life Cycle goals and reduce the life cycle cost of the submarine platform. Sustainment is a part of the Design-Build-Sustain (DBS) Integrated Process Team used at Electric Boat, ensuring a balance between capability, availability, schedule, acquisition costs, engineering/design costs, life cycle costs, and all other requirements and goals. |
Individuals selected for this position will be responsible for development and execution of projects supporting DBS teams. This includes evaluation of structural, system, and component designs for maintainability, supportability, ergonomics, and disposal characteristics, as well as business case development to support design decisions. Routine interaction with Engineering, Program Management, Naval maintenance facilities and shipyards, Navy fleet personnel, Submarine Maintenance Engineering, Planning & Procurement (SUBMEPP), and NAVSEA Program Offices is required. This position will also include the development of Sustainment processes and training curricula for DBS teams.
