About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
AECOM has an excellent career opportunity in Camarillo, California for a Project Engineer with a focus on water/wastewater infrastructure facilities for clients in Ventura and Santa Barbara County areas. The successful candidate will perform project management and production engineering duties and will lead/supervise project teams in the planning, design, and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure facilities to include pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs and treatment facilities. In addition, the successful candidate will perform and will be technically involved in facility condition assessments, hydraulics engineering, conceptual engineering, detailed design work and Construction Phase Engineering Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Project Management: Manages mid-size to large projects including planning, directing and supervising all aspects of the project financial results, client satisfaction, safety and quality
  • Project Engineering: Perform, oversee and coordinate all technical aspects of mid-size to large projects
  • Business Development: Perform client contact activities, identify and develop new business opportunities with existing clients, support development of new clients, and support project pursuit activities such as proposal preparation and interviews
  • Proactively manage and mentor junior engineers and project teams

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • PE Registration in the State of California
  • 13 years of experience including 3 years of experience overseeing projects
  • Design and management experience as a consulting engineer in the municipal water/wastewater industry
  • Water/wastewater facility design experience including development of conceptual/preliminary designs, detailed design document preparation, and engineering services during construction
  • Treatment plant, pipeline, pump station and lift station design experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
  • Demonstrated project management experience including budget and schedule monitoring and control responsibilities
  • Experience managing subcontracts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Public sector operations experience in water and/or wastewater treatment plants and collection and/or distribution facilities
  • Experience in Southern California
  • Construction Phase Engineering Services
