General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Program Manager – Autonomous Undersea Systems to join our team in Quincy, MA. The position provides an opportunity to manage and oversee the external programs that support some of our nation's and the world's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to direct all phases of external company programs that support General Dynamics Mission Systems operations and client work. This position is responsible for managing the cost, schedule and technical performance of UUV programs. The Program Manager will be responsible for directing all program phases through completion of the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD), to a successful transition to Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP), including executive oversight of the planning, scheduling, and budgeting for development, production, deployment, and life-cycle support. Work will include organizing cross functional activities, identifying resources, and managing risk to ensure the correct and timely delivery of all supplies and services specified in the contract. The Program Manager – Autonomous Undersea Systems will serve as the primary customer contact for all matters pertaining to the program. The candidate must be able to develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including subcontractors and have a commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to deal with internal and external customers within a dynamic environment. The Program Manager's primary responsibility is to ensure that the program is properly resourced, planned and managed, consistent with GDMS processes and contract requirements to ensure customer satisfaction and program success is achieved. This individual will have at least five years of demonstrated program management experience.
Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership behaviors, effective communications skills, a sophisticated understanding of budget management and the ability to successfully manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems programs.
The Program Manager – Autonomous Undersea Systems position requires a bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or in an Engineering or Scientific background with five or more years of management experience in a related field or demonstrated leadership to meet the managerial expectations.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. The ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
