Right now, we're looking for a mid-level Environmental Scientist to join the Remediation division of our Contaminated Land Management team in our Sydney office. You will be an emerging professional with approximately 5+ years' experience.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects including fieldwork, project management, client relationship management and the preparation of project reports and proposals. Knowledge of contaminated land assessment procedures and the NSW/ ACT regulatory framework is required, as is experience in conducting such investigations. It is desirable that you will have had some exposure to various remediation approaches for the treatment of contaminated soil and/or groundwater. You will work with a team of experienced environmental scientists and engineers.
You will be required to be autonomous in your role which will be a mixture of hands-on field and office based activities. Field based activities may include the collection of soil, groundwater and surface water samples and analysis of geological/hydrogeological conditions, assisting with the construction, operation and maintenance of various groundwater systems, supervision of remediation subcontractors conducting demolition, tank removal and soil remediation civil works. Office based activities may include client liaison, planning, coordination and preparation for field work, data analysis, review and report preparation. You will also be expected to deliver small to medium projects in the role of project manager and to assist with proposal preparation and client relationship management.
