The Program
Here is your opportunity to work on the first ever high-speed rail program in the U.S. while growing your career on a groundbreaking project. The California High-Speed Rail program will connect the mega-regions of the state, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs and preserve agricultural and protected lands. By 2029, the system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds of more than 200 miles per hour. The system will also extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations.

The Role
The California High Speed Rail Authority has awarded WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff the Program Management role within the Rail Delivery Partners (RDP) program delivery team. As a result we have an immediate opportunity for a Contract Specialist to lead version control and management of documents including Requests for Qualifications and Proposals, Instructions to Bidders, General and Special Provisions, and signature documents. The position requires the ability to research and draft construction contract provisions, and will require significant collaboration, coordination and communication with others. The position requires the ability to work with engineers, attorneys, and construction specialists in order to produce procurement documents meeting the requirements of each of these disciplines. Applicants should be comfortable leading meetings, giving presentations, and maintaining detailed records.
Some travel within California is required.

Job Requirements
The Requirements
      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Law, with a J.D. and membership in a State Bar Association preferred
      • At least three years of professional work experience in a related area, or two years with a graduate degree
      • Experience managing and drafting complex contractual documents, in works projects, infrastructure development or heavy civil contracting is preferred
      • Expertise in Word and document management software
      • Self-starter, detail-oriented with excellent writing and communication skills
      • Ability to work in this country immediately is required, local candidates are preferred
