Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Electrical Asset Management Specialist for employment in the Greenwood Village, CO office. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. In this role, entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM's Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

AECOM's Asset Management Team provides facility and utility analysis, life cycle cost engineering, and capital investment recommendations. Specific services include: asset management planning; asset Inventory and barcoding; facility condition and risk assessments; business process and software system services and integration; program management; capital planning; and asset management training and implementation.

The Entry Level Asset Management Specialist will provide technical support for our facilities asset management services, including performing inventory and condition assessment surveys; assessing condition of major equipment; entering and analyzing data; and, writing reports. Frequent travel of up to 2 to 3 weeks at a time is required. The selected candidate is also expected to be a strong field team leader, helping to conduct field assessment work of building and/or utility systems.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct field assessment work of building and/or utility systems; this includes walking through buildings and sites and inventorying infrastructure and equipment, capturing nameplate information, barcoding and noting condition of equipment
  • Work closely with other team members in the field and office to capture and analyze data
  • Data entry and analysis in Excel and Access, as well as a variety of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. Maximo, TRIRIGA, etc)
  • Work with engineering discipline leads to diagnose condition of assets and facilities, and identify repair, rehabilitation, and replacement solutions
  • Applying the principles of strategic and tactical asset management
  • Report writing
  • Testing of software-based data collection tools
  • Travel for field assessments
  • Cost estimating/engineering intelligence of deferred capital, maintenance, and repair and replacement costs
  • Use of a variety of software maintenance management systems
  • Adhere to company health and safety practices

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related area
  • Understanding of building systems and recognition of key building equipment, systems, and utilities
  • Knowledge of key issues and opportunities faced in asset management
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrable technical discipline areas of interest in asset management including asset management theory; developing and implementing policies and strategies; business cases evaluations; decision support tools; data strategies; gap analyses; asset and facility condition assessments; development of levels of services for assets, facilities, and organizations; lifecycle modeling planning; risk analysis; program development; and others.
  • Frequent, potentially long-term (2-3 week) travel for field assessments required
  • Confidence, with the ability to work either independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of building systems and utilities maintenance and capital planning requirements
  • Understanding of MS Access
  • Understanding of asset management software, including computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Some exposure to design and construction helpful
  • Experience with cost estimating software
