Our collaborative and customer focused quality team support a broad range of projects within the Maritime Mission Systems business line. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer within Bids and Projects based in Templecombe to ensure customer requirements are understood and incorporated into projects throughout the project lifecycle. You will also perform all aspects of bid and project quality assurance to make sure our products and service are fit for purpose, meet customer expectations and are delivered in accordance with Thales Group processes.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Clarify customer requirements to ensure they are represented during internal discussions.
  • Develop credible relationships across the project team to input into solutions and mitigate risk.
  • Ensure the appropriate application of all group policies and provide training and tools to enable others to achieve quality.
  • Promote quality within the entity.
  • Analyse and manage customer quality requirements and set up the Quality plan in bid/project phase.
  • Manage the formal approval of product conformity and manage customer issues.
  • Manage the production of defined documentation to support task delivery and scheduled reviews.
  • Perform quality audits to ensure policies, processes and procedures are effective and drive through standardisation of the audit process.
  • Manage the Bids & Projects Quality workforce.
  • Identify, develop and implement continuous improvements opportunities.
Skills and experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience working in a project quality role
  • Ideally CQI Membership
  • Experience in quality auditing and process development is preferable.
  • Ideally have knowledge of industry quality and engineering standards and processes.
  • Ideally familiar with MoD contractual requirements for Quality Assurance.
