General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an exciting opportunity for you to become a part of the Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS) team as a Software Developer/Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) for the Iridium satellite-based communications system's gateway in Wahiawa, HI. EMSS is the interface to the Iridium satellite constellation. The Software Developer/Oracle DBA will be a dual role consisting of both Lead Software Developer and Lead Oracle Database Administrator duties. The successful candidate will create automated tools, reports and statistics about the Hawaii Iridium Gateway systems and subsystems, including switching equipment, satellite transceiver equipment, and data communications equipment. The Software Developer/Oracle DBA position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field, or the equivalent experience. In addition a minimum of eight years of progressively more responsible software development experience required.
The successful candidate must be 8570 qualified with Security+/CE or equivalent.
The Software Developer/Oracle DBA must be proficient in UNIX, PERL, SQL, HTML, Oracle 11g and Oracle 12c database, Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Oracle Service Bus (OSB) and have extensive experience with data warehousing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) methodologies and practices.
The qualified candidate must possess an active Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
