Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers. Global Imaging Technologies (GIT), a Business Area within General Dynamics Mission Systems, with multiple operating divisions located throughout the US, manufactures and sells a broad range of high performance electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems, sub-systems and components to the aerospace, defense, homeland security (protecting our soldier and guarding our borders), broadcast and film, and international markets.

GDMS has an immediate opening for a Electrical Engineering Leader that will support the growing business and associated design activities. You will be responsible and accountable for the electrical technical planning, scheduling, cost analysis, risk analysis and successful execution of major projects and programs containing substantial, complex electrical content for an engineering team that designs and produces imaging technology products located in Nashua, NH.

The selected candidate will work as a leader to manage various GDMS electrical engineering projects and engineering team resources. Key Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineering Leader will be:
  • Leads electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.), interface analysis and definition for the design and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems for major programs and projects containing substantial, complex electrical content
  • Plans and leads electrical engineering root cause analysis for complex electrical issues, conducts experimental tests, evaluates results to formulate and implement solutions to issues
  • Leads the generation and maintenance of electrical work products (i.e. plans, specifications, design documentation, etc) used for internal consumption and/or deliverable to external customers
  • Develops and presents electrical requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management, other organizations, team mates and customers
  • Applies an expert understanding of the organizationally defined electrical processes throughout the life-cycle of the program or project
    Participation in the development, maintenance and improvement of the electrical organizational processes
  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycle
  • Leads the research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Establishes the overall electrical technical approach on large technical proposals
  • May participate in multi-divisional or multi-company Integrated Product Team or working group
  • Works on advanced applications that may result in new business for the company
  • May supervise or manage lower level employees
  • Travel may be required

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. Advanced degree preferred. In addition, a minimum of 12 years of relevant
experience is required, 15 years of relevant experience preferred.

The qualified candidate must possess the following:
  • Full use and understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Frequently contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas
  • Excellent understanding of company policies and practices
  • Excellent understanding of electrical engineering processes
  • Aware of business objective and Engineering role in achieving business objectives
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Highly skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electrical engineering design Understands and applies project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned-Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls
  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope growth
