General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Advanced Mechanical Engineer to join our Operations team. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and development the systems, processes and tools that support internal and client operations. Advanced Mechanical Engineers perform design and development in areas such as mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic and heat transfer. Their work assists with General Dynamics Mission Systems production, transmission and measurement, as well as the use of mechanical and electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines and machines.
Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of systems engineering and analysis, and the ability to effectively develop and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
The Advanced Mechanical Engineer position requires either a master's degree with a minimum of three to five years of related experience or a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related specialized area or the equivalent and a minimum of five to eight years of related experience.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
