Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an exciting opportunity in our brand new Dedham, MA facility. We are seeking an Associate Engineer to assist with our ICBM Prime Integration Contract (IPIC) / Minuteman Minimum Essential Emergency Communications Network Program Upgrade (MMPU). The selected individual will provide technical support to the IPIC/MMPU team and be responsible for maintaining the health of equipment in the Integrated Test Facility Lab. The candidate will support the CMMI goals for all the projects the IPIC/MMPU team supports. The candidate must be flexible with travel, as travel can last up to 2-3 weeks at a time.

  • Pack/Ship/receive Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government-Furnished Material (GFM)
  • Perform equipment checkout and troubleshooting of defective equipment
  • Data monitoring and keying
  • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) and Government Property Asset (GPA) on inspection and tracking of GFE/GFM which will include supporting internal and external inventories and lab inspections
  • Maintain various equipment logs and databases
  • Track defective GFEs to closure which could involve working with security on disposition of equipment
  • Support Configuration Control Boards (CCB)

Support the Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) team; this will include and not limited to:
  • Programming/erasing PROMs
  • Wire-wrapping
  • Act as hand courier for classified materials
  • Conduct kitproof, troubleshoot, install, and test at customer sites
  • Perform Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) transfer of data
  • Set up lab for demo and customer test
  • Support system level testing
  • Update drawings
  • Conduct training both in-house and for customers

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Bachelors of Technology degree or a bachelor's degree in an engineering support discipline (e.g., Management, Accounting) or have equivalent experience. Due to the nature of our work at our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required. A U.S. Government Top Secret clearance is required at the time of hire.
