GDMS has an immediate opening for an experienced Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to ensure GDMS and client technologies are functioning as efficiently as possible. The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for acquisition, installation, operations, maintenance and usage of a multi-user computer system, including local area networks. The successful candidate will perform configuration, health and wellness monitoring, maintenance activities and data/trend analysis. In this role you will:
  • Perform networking activities - basic understanding of routing and firewalls is a MUST
  • Execute troubleshooting and day-to-day functions (i.e., patch management)
  • Support dry runs, document fixes and troubleshooting efforts
  • Possess understanding of Group Policy Objects (GPOs), local security policies, and government standards
    • Defense Information Services Agency (DISA)
    • Defense Security Service (DSS)
    • National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)

You will be responsible for:
  • Setting up workstations
  • Resolving Active Directory issues
  • Finishing Citrix application publishing

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of technological systems and programming, and the ability to further advance GDMS technology.

The IT Systems Administrator position requires a bachelor's degree in Network Systems Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related specialized technical area and five to eight years of related professional experience, or a master's degree in Network Systems Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related specialized technical area and three to five years of related experience

The IT Systems Administrator should have the following experience/skill-sets to perform required hands-on technical functions:
  • Experience in security administration of Windows XP and 7 operating systems
  • Windows 10 experience
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
  • Server 2003 and 2012 R2
  • Experience in network securityNetwork routers, switches and firewalls
  • Network Storage Technologies
  • McAfee epol
  • Virtualization
  • Hypervisor
  • Citrix Access Gateway Netscaler, Citrix XenAPP 7.5 or XenDesktop
  • Oracle DatabaseSQL DatabaseDNS
  • mysql/postgresql experience
  • Powershell, bash, and/or python scripting
  • SCCM experience (deployment and administration)
  • Certifications (Security+, Network+ or A+) - with hands on technical system expertise
  • Experience in system debugging, backup
  • Troubleshooting and fixing issues in Active Directory
  • Support dry runs and generation of troubleshooting and backup procedures
  • Expected Travel up to 75% (primarily to Santa Clara, CA)

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
