Responsibilities for this Position:
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing team. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports both domestic and international satellite communications customers.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and produce the state-of-the-art products that support GDMS and our clients. Manufacturing Engineers on our team develop, implement and maintain the methods, operation sequences and processes used in GDMS production. This involves the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineer is also responsible for estimating manufacturing costs, determining project time standards, and recommending the tools and processes that accompany new and existing product lines. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide guidance to fellow engineers, helping them to enhance organizational design concepts and manufacturing techniques.
The successful candidate must have Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology or the equivalent experience. Involvement with productivity improvement, new tooling and capital equipment acquisitions, process qualification, safety systems design and implementation, resolution of quality and technical problems, and process design. Person should be a hand on problem solver, comfortable with communicating with all areas of the organization, customers, and suppliers.
