The Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) Quality Advocate helps assure nuclear overhaul and repair work is conducted according to contractual requirements and customer expections for work on board commissioned vessels at the Naval Submarine Base and EB shipyard.|
The NRMD Quality Advocate is responsible for:
Collating and analyzing trend data; producing metrics; chairing critiques; investigating deficiencies and developing corrective actions; writing Incident Reports; developing and providing training; tracking and trending department commitments; debriefing nuclear work; developing and implementing standard procedures; participating in audits; developing responses to audit findings, RDRs, CARs, and other deficiency reports; surveilling work; identifying and developing process improvements; coordinating and participating in department self-assessments; maintaining a lessons learned database; and other duties as assigned. The Quality Advocate frequenly communicates with customer representatives and all levels of management. Additional duties include a position on the Radiological Emergency Response Organization on-scene incident command team.
