The Manager of Materials Management will lead an organization of 15 - 20 salaried professionals responsible for Major Electrical components. The Major Electrical components include Common Weapons Launcher system, Circuit D, Integrated Low Pressure Electrolyzers, hull penetrators, cable assemblies, communication system, battery monitoring systems, fiber optic cables, main storage batteries, transducers, ultrasonic sensors and various other electrical components. The Manager would also be responsible for some electrical design and development activities.|
Specific elements of job performance include acquisition planning, development of source selection criteria, conduct of bid solicitation and evaluation, subcontract oversight, administration, industrial base preservation, risk management, participation in subcontract audits, cost analyses and negotiations, evaluation of cost reports, coordination of material bids in support of contract solicitations, proposals and contract changes, and employee development/succession planning. Applicants for this position must be able to work independently, be able to express themselves clearly and concisely both verbally and in written documents, and be capable of interacting with Company and Corporate senior executives, senior executives from suppliers, and senior customer representatives. Multi-tasking is a required skill. The ability to evaluate options, build consensus, and make decisions in a timely manner is essential, and the capability to handle large-dollar-value responsibilities is critical. Travel to supplier facilities will be required to fulfill this job.
