General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Linux/VMware Systems Administrator to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The person who fills this position will be responsible for installing, operating and maintaining a heterogeneous environment consisting of servers running RedHat Linux, VMware ESXi, and Windows. The servers are used to host web applications, and include Apache, Tomcat, Oracle, and MySQL. Network devices include routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, and network attached storage. A full suite of FISMA compliant security and management applications are also included.
Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of technological systems and programming, and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems' technology.
The Linux/VMware Systems Administrator position requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related specialized area or the equivalent and eight to ten years of related experience, or a Master's degree with six to eight years of related experience.
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be submitted for a customer counterintelligence polygraph that will be scheduled after work has started. Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required.
