General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Principal Development Quality Engineer to join our award-winning team. The Principal Development Quality Engineer will be responsible for assuring that hardware and software products meet customer requirements and that the processes used are compliant with the company's Quality System. This position will develop and maintain quality plans for diverse programs and implement these plans; become an integrated member of program teams; review technical program documents (for systems, software and hardware), including program plans, specifications, test plans, etc. for compliance with customer requirements, internal business requirements and industry best practices; support the programs' quantitative management and root cause analysis activities; participate in internal/external program reviews and present quality status; plan and perform internal audits of the programs to verify compliance with plans and internal processes; lead external customer audits on the programs; act as the contact focal point for quality with customers; witness testing for compliance with approved procedures.

Candidates should demonstrate sophisticated problem solving skills, as well as an ability to design, develop and implement innovative General Dynamics Mission Systems business solutions.
The Principal Development Quality Engineer must have a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline or a related specialty, or the equivalent, and eight to ten years of related experience. Applicants with a Master's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline or a related specialty, or the equivalent, and six to eight years of professional experience also qualify.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
