Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for immediate employment in the Philadelphia, PA office.
The Senior Structural Engineer is expected to work both independently and with other structural staff.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of analytical models and design calculations for various structural elements relating to the design, rehabilitation, and construction of transit facilities and structures, including structural steel framing, reinforced concrete framing and shear walls, masonry, deep and shallow foundations, and site structures
  • Prepare blast and progressive collapse models to assess the resultant dynamic loading
  • Conduct field inspections and condition assessments and prepare reports
  • Prepare sketches, including the use of Revit Structure
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of design submissions
  • Prepare project specifications
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines during both the design and construction phases of a project

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Must have knowledge and familiarity of relevant building codes and standards including IBC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, AISC 341, ACI 318, ACI 530, etc.
  • Experience with various software packages for analysis and design such as RAM, ETABS, NA, Safe, SAP 2000, and Revit
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field
  • 8 years of related experience
  • SE License
  • Knowledge and expertise in the areas of blast and progressive collapse including earthquake engineering, finite element methods, and dynamic analysis
  • Experience with deep foundation design including steel, timber, and auger-cast piles, caissons, and drilled shafts
