About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Network Administrator to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. The successful candidate will provide direct support to the Government customer in the setup, configuration, documentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network devices in a fast paced Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation lab environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Support legacy and future systems as well as technical refreshes/upgrades for switches, routers, firewalls, NTP servers, log servers, Call Managers, VoIP Phones, etc. on various DoD connected networks.
  2. Research and respond to issues from the acquisition community and the operating forces as well as to develop and brief information to multiple levels of Program Management.
  3. Build and install cabling/wiring for systems, telecommunication systems and peripheral equipment to include CAT5/6, RJ-11, RJ-45, Single/Multi-Mode Fiber, & ST/SC/LC patch cables.
  4. Support Test and Evaluation (T&E) events and Verification and Validation (V&V) events involving Navy and Marine Corps Combat Systems in multiple sites.
  5. Perform a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks independently.
  6. Acts as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for design, analyses, or design reviews.
  7. Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
  8. Lead and coordinate the installation, modification, monitoring, operation, testing, and servicing of equipment and systems at company and client sites.
  9. Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirement.
  10. May support engineers in the development of technical proposal and provide input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
  11. Perform all other position related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in technical field and at least 5 years of job-related experience; Vocational/ Technical school or Associates degree and at least 8 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
  • CCNA Certification required within 3 months of hire
  • CompTIA Security , CCNA Security, CISSP, CASP or CISM Certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Position may require travel.
