Job Summary
The Buildings and Places Business Lines of AECOM are actively seeking a creative, highly talented Lead Technology Engineer for immediate employment in the Columbus, Ohio office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in technology engineering systems, specific to healthcare, data centers and other mission critical facilities. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Verifies that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met
  • Resolves issues or problems concerning conflicting design requirements, specifications and/or difficult coordination requirements
  • Conducts peer reviews and make technical presentations
  • Conducts ITR and Detail Check reviews
  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work as a part of a major project or small-moderate scope project
  • Reviews, plans and prepares technical specifications according to the contract documents
  • Coordinates and prepares deliverables (calculations, specifications and drawings) for submittal to clients
  • Represents project(s) to other disciplines and AECOM management
  • Interacts regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work
  • Assists with proposals and scopes of work to provide services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs
  • Receives instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 13 years of experience, including 3 years of which included overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of small to mid-size projects
  • Licensed RCDD
  • Experience in the design of healthcare, data centers and other mission critical facilities
  • Experience in technology systems including outside plant (OSP), structured and backbone cabling, wireless communication, networking devices, nurse call, electronic security, audio visual systems, public address, distributed antenna systems, telecommunication equipment room design, etc.
  • Familiar with telecommunication and building standards and codes: NEC, NFPA 99, IBC, BICSII TDM, etc.
  • Working knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Excellent client/customer service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and within budget/client requests
  • Project management experience including budget control and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
