About the role:
We are looking for an experienced paediatric HCA to join our existing team to care for a one year old boy, who currently lives at home with his family in North London. He was born with a heart defect and now has a tracheostomy in situ and is fed via a Gastrostomy tube. Our client is fully dependent on his care team to deliver all aspects of his daily personal care and wider healthcare needs to ensure his safety are maintained at all times.
Ideally you will have first hand experience in looking after young children with similar complex care needs. Our client's care package requires 1:1 care, 7 nights a week, 10 hour night shifts 2100 - 0700.
You will be required to provide excellent tracheostomy care, administration of medications via his PEG and ensure his nutritional needs are met by following detailed care plans.
You will be required to engage and communicate with our client, his family and wider professionals effectively to ensure that his safety and well being are maintained at all times.
Bespoke training, shadow shifts and clinical supervisions will be provided.
Rate of pay range from £11.00 - £13.00 per hour.
Following skills & experience required:
• 6 months previous care experience
• Experience of working with clients with complex care needs (advantageous)
• Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening
• Caring and compassionate attitude
• Can commit to regular hours
• Tracheostomy care
• Gastrostomy care
• Ventilation care
• Medication management via PEG
