The North America Logistics Manager (NALM) will be a key leader on the Chemicals Supply Chain Team. The NALM will be responsible for managing the transportation network supporting the movement of goods across a complex supply chain spanning North America, which includes suppliers, multiple manufacturing & packaging facilities, warehouses and field stocking locations.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to drive change and improvement across a large piece of the enterprise - in 2015 we shipped in excess of 1.5 billion pounds of chemical across the globe. With consideration for economic success, environmental protection and social responsibility, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the chemicals division 3PL relationships, transportation management tools, and will lead and participate on cross-functional process improvement teams. The successful candidate will lead a group of Logistics Professionals to support and optimize the organization. Deliverables will include improving service levels across the Chemicals division, reducing cost, improving the visibility of distribution related information and coordinating with our Private Fleet team to ensure maximum value. The ability to connect logistics and transportation management to day-to-day operations in a way that increases the value we deliver to our final customers is key!

  • Direct a centrally established logistics team supporting North America operations, with some support of global activities.
  • Define logistics performance improvement plans in alignment with the Chemicals Supply Chain and Field Operations teams to support end-to-end optimization and performance improvement.
  • Leverage volume and scale to achieve cost savings Year-over-Year while driving operational excellence and best practices across the network.
  • Implementation and ownership of logistics KPI's: Cost, Quality, Safety, Compliance, Efficiency & Effectiveness of material movements.
  • Develop and negotiate North America based agreements with logistics service providers, manage relationships with the logistics service providers, and monitor their operations to ensure the timely and effective planning, scheduling and execution of agreed upon activities.
  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance conditions are met or exceeded.
  • Responsible for hiring, annual performance plans, coaching, and career development.
  • Responsible for handling the technical details of domestic and international transportation-multiple modes, complex documentation, and varying customs regulations.
  • Support the development of our Eastern Hemisphere supply chain as needed via special projects and contributing to the development of region specific strategies.


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or similar discipline, and/or commensurate business experience leading major change & growth initiatives within the same space.
  • 10 years of experience with Chemical distribution / 3 PL management / Dangerous goods handling.
  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience
  • A deep understanding of core Supply Chain principals, and use of modern IT tools and theories to link these principals to results in a complex, 24/7 supply chain environment.
  • Excellent understanding of ERP systems, with project management experience leading change efforts involving ERP & similar applications
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma, with project management experience in optimizing back-end processes, work flows, procedures and/or network optimization.


  • APICS or similar certification
  • Management & leadership within a high SKU, high turnover, complex supply chain spanning North America
  • Leadership of a transportation network involving bulk chemical (Rail & bulk truck) and packaged (drums or similar containers) across North America.
  • Chemical hauling experience highly preferred; hands-on experience managing workflow in a terminal, plant, packaging facility, warehouse or delivery function highly desirable.
  • Experience overseeing a responsible for dispatch.
  • Experience negotiating carrier contracts, especially in the bulk chemical and / or hazardous materials industry.
  • Experience managing 3PL relationships, including TMS services.
