About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Engineer for immediate employment in the Spokane, WA office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Transportation or Land Development Design, and a professional engineer registered in the State of Washington. The ideal candidate would provide a diverse background of local and regional experience; demonstrate experience in hydraulic modeling platforms, and proven Client satisfaction. The successful candidate will assist and/or lead the management of a project and ensures the project is completed technically and successfully from beginning to end (i.e. initiation, planning and designing, execution, monitoring and controlling, and completion of the project) aligning with AECOM's business strategy, goals, and vision. This position will report to Spokane Office Manager.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists or leads management and design of project(s) with up to $1M contract value
  • Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in moderately-sized projects with moderate risk, complexity and financial impact
  • Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools; may include management of small teams across business lines, in remote locations and/or management of subcontractors
  • Identifies and commits appropriate company resources to accomplish project goals
  • Controls overall project cost and scope, schedule, and quality of work
  • Ensures all standards and requirements are met in the area of health and safety by reviewing, communicating and managing project health and safety plans so that project personnel, client and subcontractors are aware of risks and hazards, and accidents are prevented
  • Mentors and develops staff, providing leadership and an environment which encourages teamwork, initiative and growth

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 10 years of design and project management experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Washington
  • Ability to demonstrate an established career in Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Transportation or Land Development design
  • Ability to manage projects on a local to national basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance, and client satisfaction
  • Ability to assist or lead in the development of strategy, proposal preparation and contract execution
  • Ability to maintains and build positive client relationships
  • Experience with business and contractual agreements
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possess strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to market AECOM engineering services directly to potential clients

Preferred Qualifications
  • Holds licenses in other jurisdictions
  • Existing client relationships in the Spokane WA and surrounding areas
  • Experience in alternate delivery methods of large-scale transportation projects, such as Design-Build, GC/CM, and P3
  • Active participation/leadership roles in professional societies
  • Understanding and application of/participation in new technologies or innovative engineering techniques
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Cost Professional (CCP)
