Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a TRP Area Manager - Airfield Paving/Fueling for immediate employment in the Salt Lake City, UT office. This person will be an integral part in the core management team of a $1.8B Terminal Redevelopment Program (TRP) for the Salt Lake City International Airport. The project includes construction of a new consolidated terminal building, parking structure, and connection with the light rail system. The TRP Area Manager - Airfield Paving/Fueling will report to the TRP Deputy Program Director - Design Management and Program Delivery. This person will be responsible for the design budget, scope definition, compliance, construction coordination, construction quality assurance, construction change order request evaluation and field engineering of assigned Airfield Paving and Fueling projects delivery from project inception through closeout. Candidate will be responsible for the coordination of assigned projects design with other disciplines and other TRP projects such as those for the Terminal, RAC, Infrastructure and Systems.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline
  • 10 years of progressive US aviation design and construction experience working on major capital programs of $200 million or greater in the US
  • Must have demonstrated experience in managing multi discipline design and construction teams on large, airfield and hydrant fueling projects
  • Must be familiar with the various contract delivery methods (for example design-bid-build, design-build, and construction manager at risk)
  • Must have experience preparing and negotiating design fees; evaluating construction change order requests, conducting presentations, public speaking and possess good written communication skills
  • Experience in interpreting and reviewing Airfield Paving and Hydrant Fueling contract documents, including but not limited to schematic design (SD-30% documents), design documents (DD-60% documents), construction documents (CD-100% documents), bid and award, conformed documents, requests for information (RFI), change orders, submittals, bulletins, as built drawings and close out documentation
  • Experience with and understanding of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules and guidelines
  • Field engineering experience and the ability to make field decisions and help resolve construction conflicts
  • Must have a successful track record in conflict resolution; have a positive attitude and a propensity for collaborative teamwork
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
