WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is seeking a senior level professional engineer/manager with comprehensive experience in conceptual design and final design engineering of Rail Shop Maintenance Facilities and associated yard designs. Candidate shall be a recognized leader specializing in the Vehicle Maintenance Practices and efficient, safe, and productive shop designs. The selected candidate will help expand WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff's practice of Rail Shop Maintenance Facility Designs for all types of rail vehicles including light rail, heavy rail, street cars, locomotives, EMU's and coaches throughout the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Manage shop maintenance engineering projects varying from new startups to rehabilitating existing facilities including not just vehicle maintenance on car but also incorporating support shop designs.
      • Developing master plans for a total maintenance plan package
      • Manage staff and activities for projects of significant size and complexity
      • Facilitating meetings with client and client staff, monitoring project activities and their completion for client satisfaction
      • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
      • Lead proposals and pursuits
This job will require for the selected candidate to travel for some work projects.

Job Requirements
Education Required:
      • BS in Industrial Engineering, or a related field
      • PE Registration

Experience/Skills Required:
      • Minimum of 10 years' experience in above-referenced project disciplines
      • Established relationships with potential BRT and transit clients, and demonstrated ability to develop new relationships
      • Demonstrated success as hands-on Project Management experience
      • Active participation in relevant professional societies is important
      • The successful candidate is required to have the interpersonal and team skills
      • Familiarity with life extension work, overhauls and the like is required
      • Strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
      • Demonstrated knowledge of Maintenance Practices and overall shop design
      • CADD design also a requirement
      • Experience in leading marketing efforts, pursuits, proposal writing, and representing the firm in presentations
      • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong Rail/transit agency relationships
      • Leadership and collaboration skills
      • Demonstrated verbal/oral skills
      • Strong technical writing ability
Desired Qualifications:
      • Actual operating experience a plus
      • Basic knowledge operating requirements and the inter relationship between various entities is preferred

The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
