About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
AECOM's Melbourne Impact Assessment and Permitting team is the lead provider of major transport and critical infrastructure planning advice and impact assessments in VIC. We are looking for experienced candidates to join and learn as part of our high performing team.
The Professional role provides timely and quality inputs for the delivery of environmental impact assessments, constraints analyses and environmental management plans and assists in the organisation of resources, budgets and timelines for the management of these projects. Responsibilities include the preparation of reports and proposals to clients, and developing and enhancing relationships with clients, AECOM staff and suppliers.

  • Draft formal environmental reports, proposals, tender documents and correspondence
  • Demonstrated skills in managing projects (or components of) and budgets to meet time and resource requirements
  • Undertake ad hoc project related tasks as required which may include; studies and assessments, data analysis, technical writing, presentations, and legislation research
  • Assist project managers in managing project budgets and plans, assist with project invoicing and collections to maximise cash flow, assist with the management of project resources to ensure on time and on budget delivery
  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with clients to enhance client retention and growth
  • Seek client feedback and help to action improvement plans
  • Identify further opportunities with client and cross-sell AECOM services where appropriate
  • Effectively communicate in a professional manner with other project staff including subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the community to enhance working relationships and outcomes
  • Receive general instruction on project tasks and undertake training for standard procedures
  • Actively participates in team to reach goals

Minimum Requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification (Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Statutory Planning, Environmental Engineering or similar)
  • 2-5years relevant professional experience
  • Environmental impact assessment experience across a number of market sectors, and transport project experience preferred
  • Quality and productivity in execution of duties and responsibilities as outlined previously
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to develop relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, report writing, development of proposals
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • Effective collaboration, negotiation and teaming skills
