Job Summary
AECOM is currently seeking candidates for the position of Tax Analyst in our Richmond Global Business Services Center. The Tax Analyst position is involved in all aspects of domestic transaction tax compliance and research.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage state and local (and if necessary, federal) audits for sales & use, property, and business licenses, working directly with auditors and appeals officers as directed
  • Write appeal/ tax determination letters to various state and local jurisdictions
  • Research tax issues and provide tax position papers
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Tax Decision Software (e.g. Vertex)
  • Reconcile tax liability accounts
  • Research and provide tax advice to field operations offices
  • Manage foreign vendor compliance (W-8)
  • Prepare both original and amended tax returns

  • Analyze and report tax data to Finance Manager/Controller
  • Responsible for monthly tax filing reporting
  • Prepare and file tax compliance certification for Project Managers

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of tax / financial / accounting experience/ audit experience
  • Indirect tax (sales/use; property tax) experience with working
  • Oracle or Other ERP system experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of legal contracts
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Skilled at problem solving and negotiating
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to successfully handle the demands of multiple priorities
  • Experience using tax reporting software
  • Team-player with demonstrated customer-service focus

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA
