About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
The Impact Assessment and Permitting Department in the AECOM Dallas office is actively seeking a creative and highly talented Senior Environmental Planner for immediate employment. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career as a Senior Environmental Planner. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, dynamic, and challenging projects to further professional growth. The Senior Environmental Planner position will entail coordinating and leading production efforts with clients and staff, coordinating with environmental agencies and municipalities, and serving as principal author for NEPA documents and planning studies.

The position would involve the following responsibilities:
  • Leading department staff on challenging environmental projects in Texas and the Nation, as appropriate
  • Providing appropriate support to AECOM multidisciplinary teams in delivering satisfactory outcomes to the client
  • Managing and supporting complex environmental planning projects for State and Federal Agencies, including TxDOT
  • Leading the preparation of proposals, work scopes, and cost estimates

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, Natural Resources Management or related field
  • 8 years of experience working (includes National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and environmental studies)
  • Must demonstrate experience as having led the production of NEPA documentation
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant aspects of the transportation industry
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated business development skills
  • Must be an excellent written and oral communicator, with experience communicating with the public on controversial issues.
  • Must possess a broad general knowledge of key federal and state environmental policies and regulations
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project; familiarity or experience with ArcGIS, Microstation
  • Positive attitude, initiative, and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary work environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS is preferred (post graduate degree or continuing classes) in urban planning, environmental science, environmental planning, engineering, or related field
  • Transportation experience and with TxDOT pre-certifications in environmental studies
  • Preference for candidates with project management experience
