For our Global Procurement Operations Centre

Purpose of the Job:
The Site Operations Director ensures the effective operational service delivery of activities of a site in accelerated expansion, offering support to both Bombardier Aerospace and Bombardier Transportation businesses. For this role, s/he leads the procurement team ensuring acquisition, development and management of talents and ensures that the team meets all service delivery targets by developing and executing clear and robust processes that serve multiple regions/countries.
As we believe that customer service is key, the Site Operations Director builds strong relationships with stakeholders and develops and executes strategic action plans to continuously improve performance.

Key responsibilities and challenges :
Achieving Business Results and Operational Excellence
  • Is accountable for operational set-up as well as capacity planning.
  • Is responsible for high customer satisfaction within the Procurement Operations and for developing the scope of service delivered and manage the changes required to deliver continuous.
  • Creates, aligns and executes procurement strategies including breakthrough value creation opportunities with business objectives and priorities.
  • Leads the development, communication and implementation of Procurement objectives, business strategies and organizational visions.
Manage Site Procurement budget and targets
  • Proactively improves our services in quality and scope.
  • Adjusts allocation of key tasks based on considerations of business risk, commerciality and urgency.
  • Acts as a first point of escalation for internal and external customers and ensures that they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Guarantees continuity of supply and delivers exceptional quality and service to the business.
People management and development
  • Recruits, develops, motivates and retains talent in the team.
  • Shapes and sustains an effective, motivated team that delivers desired business results by providing vision and direction, building trust, selecting, coaching and developing team members, leveraging individual abilities and ensuring best practices are utilized.
  • Ensures a professional, creative, inspiring and fun environment in the quest of a world class place to work and high retention of talent.
Stakeholder Relationship
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders in order to manage expectations and ensure excellent cooperation with various interfaces / stakeholders within Procurement community and the business.
  • Manages a 'right first time' culture within the team.
  • Sustains the Customer Care culture and processes and reviews Continuous Improvement adoption of the standards over time within the operation.
  • Leads the development of processes, systems and standards to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Creates and drives the implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.
  • Reviews and assess the impact of projects in each functional area to ensure that the customer service impact is known and appropriate process and training updates are provided to the teams.
  • Manages compliance with global Procurement processes, develop and enhance global processes.

  • Education: Business Degree or related, preferably MBA level or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated track record of achievement and growth in a leadership role.
  • Extensive and broad managerial experience in team management (ideally 50 employees).
  • Able to make decisions with limited, but pertinent information to keep performance on track.
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Supply chain and cross-functional knowledge; strong skills and experience with diagnosing and resolving complex issues and identifying transformational opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills in English are mandatory. Other languages are of advantage.
