About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Technician for immediate employment in the Boca Raton, FL office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring remedial systems
  • Diagnosing problems and repairing remedial systems as necessary
  • Maintaining records associated with operation and maintenance of systems
  • Supporting remedial operations and directing remedial subcontractors as appropriate
  • Conducting soil and groundwater sampling
  • Supporting and assisting with air monitoring and environmental sampling
  • Participating in Behavior-Based Safety Programs, including completing safety observations and taking responsibility for personal and jobsite safety
Work days can be 10-12 hours depending on the task. There is also a potential for overnight travel to the work schedule.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience with operation and maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems
  • Must be a team player
  • Comfortable working in physically challenging outdoor situations in all types of weather and traveling on a regular basis to project sites located throughout the South Florida area and AECOM's South region
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • General mechanical and electrical knowledge applicable to operating and maintaining remediation systems
  • Experience working with air compressors and vacuum blowers
  • Understand the requirement and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Experience with personal air monitoring equipment
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certified
  • First Aid Certified
  • Experience in soil and groundwater sampling, including low-flow groundwater sampling along with some construction management and drilling oversight experience
