Job Summary
The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and self-motivated Civil Drafter/ Designer for immediate employment in the Columbus, Ohio office. This position affords the ability to make an important and meaningful contribution to our projects and our clients. The role will provide the opportunity for skill development in many aspects of the profession, as well as opportunities for increased responsibility, challenges and project management.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for serving as primary departmental resource for CAD drafting at the project level
  • CAD drafting will be performed in a manner which adheres to accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company standards
  • Prepare and issue all associated design/drafting packages in coordination with IT support staff
  • Assist in the development, implementation and deployment of CAD drafting and survey standards on a departmental level, as directed
  • Assume primary responsibility for providing a quality work product by checking the work product of associates and assuming both schedule and quality measures
  • Assist in the training and development of staff

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • 5 years of relevant civil drafting or design experience
  • Under general direction, provided advanced drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining prints, maps, and engineering design drawings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with ODOT and/or City of Columbus design policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Advanced technical knowledge of drafting techniques and training in CAD and spreadsheet software
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley Microstation, and/or InRoads experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work closely with design professionals at a project level with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment, using time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
