About the role:
Interserve Healthcare are recruiting for a lovely lady who is 39yrs she lives in the Saxlingham Nethergate. area.
The client has good support from her family and has a partner who helps when he can. We have looked after her for quite some time and we are looking for staff who have a strong mind but can encourage her to be independent. The lady has mental health issues and suffers from anxieties when faced with new challenges. She is fine with her current location but shy's away from meeting new people.
Our client enjoys going out to eat, walks, being pampered at the hair dressers and looking around the shops to buy new things. We have a team in place at present we would just like to add to this team. You will need to have experience with people with mental health and people also who need motivating by taking the lead when needed.
As a Care Assistant in this role duties will vary to every shift, some times you will be required to do personal care, assistance with moving and handling, support with community outings and medication administration.
You have to be a team player, good communication skills are needed and a lot of empathy towards this client would be needed. When she becomes anxious at times she can tend to have seizures. Having one to one support with her is beneficial and is so rewarding to the right carer.
Experience with learning disabilities, epilepsy and seizures is advantageous.
Must have a care background with a minimum of 6 months experience within the UK.
Shift pattern is rota based. Shifts vary depending on availability, but usually a shift is 11.30-17.30.
Pay rates range from £8.75 - £15.00 per hour.
Duties to include:
• Providing assistance with personal care
• Provide transportation to hospital appointments, into the community and to social groups/to attend hobbies
• Epilepsy management
Following skills & experience required:
• 6 months previous care experience
• Ideally experience of working with clients with epilepsy
• Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening
• Have a caring and compassionate attitude
• Can commit to regular hours
• Medication management
• Manual handling
